Details about the updated KTM 390 Adventure range have been leaked ahead of its unveiling at the EICMA show in Milan next month. As per the leaked information, at least two new variants will be available: the off-road-oriented KTM 390 Adventure R and the road-focused KTM 390 Adventure X, in addition to the standard KTM 390 Adventure.
The new KTM 390 Adventure models will likely feature the same 399 cc single-cylinder engine found in the KTM 390 Duke, which produces 45.3 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 39 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox that includes a bi-directional quick-shifter. KTM may adjust the gearing and final drive ratio to better align with the adventure-focused nature of these bikes.
The KTM 390 Adventure R will be the flagship model of the 2025 range. Designed for off-road enthusiasts, it will feature wire-spoke wheels with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear, potentially equipped with tubeless tires. The R variant will have a saddle height of 885 mm and an off-road-capable, fully adjustable WP suspension with 230 mm of travel. Standard features will include cornering ABS, traction control, and a full-color TFT instrument console with smartphone and Bluetooth connectivity.
Positioned below the Adventure R, the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure X will be more road-oriented while sharing the same chassis and bodywork. It will feature cast alloy wheels with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear setup, a standard LCD instrument console, and non-cornering ABS. Although it will maintain a respectable 200 mm of suspension travel, the setup on the 390 Adventure X will be non-adjustable. Its seat height will be slightly lower than the R, at 825 mm.
In addition to the Adventure R, KTM is expected to introduce a more hardcore enduro model, the KTM 390 Enduro R. This bike will also use the same engine as the other 390 models but is anticipated to be lighter, taller, and even more focused on off-road performance than the Adventure R.
The fourth model in the new KTM 390 lineup is expected to be the 2025 KTM 390 SMC R, a supermoto-style bike based on the same platform. Details about this model are still pending.
